Staff Accountant

Department: Accounting

Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant position is responsible for maintaining Financial Statements in accordance with GAAP Accounting and providing internal and external reporting functions to aid Management in making timely decisions.

Essential Functions

  • Monthly closing of Financial Statements including A/P Accruals and other General Journal entries
  • Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, & Annual internal and external reporting duties
  • Monthly Bank Reconciliations
  • Run Daily/Weekly/Monthly Sales, Loan Collateral Assignments, Writeoffs, & Account Buyback processes.
  • Create/update reports as assigned by the Accounting Manager
  • Assist with Year End Audit and Bank Exams
  • Limited Internal Audit duties
  • Monitor Daily, Weekly, Monthly Cash Collections for Securitizations & Lines of Credit
  • Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Managers

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 2 Years Related Accounting Experience required
  • 2 years public accounting experience preferred
  • Certified Public Account preferred
  • Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent reasoning and critical thinking skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, visualize, talk, hear, and handle or touch objects or controls. The employee may occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.
